Havanese

The Havanese, a bichon-type dog, is the national dog of Cuba, developed from the now-extinct Blanquito de la Habana. The Blanquito descended from the also now-extinct Bichón Tenerife.

Havanese dogs are known for their charming and affectionate nature, making them excellent companions for families and individuals alike. They have a small, sturdy build with a long, silky coat that comes in a variety of colors, including white, black, cream, brown, and combinations thereof. Regular grooming is necessary to keep their coat healthy and free of mats and tangles.

These dogs are highly intelligent, playful, and social, thriving on human companionship and enjoying being the center of attention. Havanese are known for their friendly and outgoing nature, getting along well with children and other pets. They are also adaptable and can do well in various living environments, including apartments, as long as they receive regular exercise and mental stimulation.

Due to their intelligence and eagerness to please, Havanese are relatively easy to train with positive reinforcement techniques. They enjoy activities such as playtime, walks, and interactive games. With their friendly, loving, and adaptable nature, Havanese make wonderful pets for those who can provide the attention, care, and exercise they need.
